Realise Coaching

Coach, Mentor, Leadership and Learning

Are you stuck and not sure how to move forward in your career or more generally in your life?

Are you at a threshold and fearful of the next steps?

Are you facing obstacles and not sure how to overcome them?

Are your team dynamics dysfunctional? Does your organisation require cultural change?

Having navigated a career as a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP over 35 years, 25 as partner and practice leader, I understand the challenges.

Having myself worked with a coach through my transition out of the law and into coaching I know the value that a coach can bring.

Having coached and mentored across the public and private sector from the arts, beauty, charities, legal, financial services and pharma I have experience of a wide spectrum of organisations.

I work with all age groups and organisations supporting leadership and team skills training and cultural transformational change. I  maintain a pro bono practice alongside fee earning work.

Realising your goals

Do you face challenges realising your goals including:

  • Lack of confidence,  presence and impact?
  • Negative belief systems including so-called “imposter syndrome”?
  • Rumination, procrastination and prevarication?
  • Misalignment with strengths, values and passions?
  • Difficulty developing an effective and authentic leadership style?

I can help you explore these issues in a safe space to find your pathway forward.

Balancing Work and Family Life

Are you struggling to maintain a balance between work and family life?

I understand that flexible working brings many challenges and my lived experience was affirmed by gender diversity studies at  INSEAD.

I can help individuals and organisations acknowledge obstacles women face in the workforce and address steps to mitigate these including:

  • Exploring the status quo and identifying areas for change
  • Addressing short term and longer term solutions
  • Establishing formal and informal networks
  • Facilitating workshops to address unconscious bias
  • Supporting everyday measures to apply policies at the coal face of the business

Transitions

If you are stuck, unhappy with your current position, or at a threshold such as starting a new career, returning from maternity leave or approaching retirement coaching can provide a safe environment for experimentation and exploration.

I appreciate from my coaching practice that it is critical to meet the client where they are: there is no one-size that fits all and I am very open-minded and flexible in my approach.

I have a love of nature, gardening, yoga and the arts and bring a creative approach where it suits drawing on art and imagery. I understand the value of mindfulness and exploring our surroundings to ease anxiety. At the same time I appreciate some clients prefer a transactional, goal oriented approach supported by research.

I am happy to provide further reading and practice tools where clients would like these to support change and check-in between sessions to support progress.

Equality, diversity and inclusion.

I am passionate about supporting and sponsoring those who may not have had the advantage of exposure to a professional network growing up.

I have been privileged to work with Annette Byron in supporting the Freshfields’ Stephen Lawrence Scholars individually as mentor and collectively addressing business critical topics.

I have an understanding of measures which can assist in fostering an inclusive environment which values ethnic and gender diversity. I was honoured to be appointed by the Black Affinity Network at Freshfields as BANbassador and advocate to help galvanise support through the firm.

MyRealisation Podcast

Naturally curious about the lives of others I host a podcast MyRealisation exploring first the decisions my guest has made to take control of their lives when they realised they wanted change and the steps taken to realise their plans.

Intended to inspire, encourage and entertain the stories are of bravery, resilience, and determination to overcome challenges, personal and professional, to align career and life choices with strengths, passions and values.
